"...My references are here. In the islands, in the earth, the sand, the sea, quarries, the light of the whitewashed courtyard. In the lime itself.
In the black and white of light and darkness, good and evil.
In the Minotaur. In the limit; the void; in being and non-being.
Blocks of sandstone, cuts in the quarries, traces of indentations, scars.
All and nothing. The fertile emptiness. Pain and love. Signs of being alive.
No, it's not Japanese calligraphy or Chinese ink. It is pigment made of burnt bone, clay, or rock. It is seawater, and rainwater. And it is wind, violent and beautiful.
Trees twisted by the Tramuntana wind. Violent and painful gestures. Raging. Serene.
And the beautiful memory. To remember. Bringing back to the heart.”
