Artist Statement
A reconfiguration of found imagery from stock websites, overlaid and spliced with instantaneous brush work. A duality between computer generated, albeit saturated, commercialised, impossibly crisp, semi-fabricated polished captured scenes; and the poeticism of immediate off-the-cuff, oil brush strokes at various pressures creating the illusion of fluidity and wetness on the surface. Dystopic in imagery, and evoking depth through colour and tone, both on subconscious & selective/considered levels. Part of an ongoing exploration through found image, materiality, surface, and colour.
