This imaginary landscape series was inspired by my travels to National Parks in the US as well as archaeological sites in the Americas and Europe.
The front side of the sculpture is carved in topographical relief manner, and the rear side is incised/etched drawing with painted enamel, inspired by ancient petroglyphs/rock art of Southwest, USA.
It too can be seen as an imaginary Zen garden to meditate upon.
The dark areas of the granite sculpture are highly polished and the white textured areas are chisel marks in relief form, with a stainless steel rod connecting to the separate granite base. The sculpture has been exhibited in my own solo exhibition in the past.
