Artist statement
In "Shiro III", you will find the beautiful and sultry lines inspired by the female form, a constant inspiration in many of my sculptures.
My artistic vision never seeks to embrace 'perfection,' instead, I choose to highlight certain imperfections and textures within my work. In this particular piece, I've intentionally preserved clay shavings within the sculpture's body, meticulously securing them in place as a reminder of the sculpture's birth. Additionally, a subtle crack emerged during the firing process along the top lip of the piece, which I filled with a light grey epoxy. This 'blemish,' however, does not diminish the piece's beauty; rather, it serves as a poignant reminder that perfection is elusive in our physical world, and true contentment lies in releasing such expectations.
