Artist Statement
One of the most prolific Cebuano artists of the current generation is Kiamko. In his 2022 show, “High Contrast Botanicals'', he takes a breather from his large-scale works to focus on flexing his artistic muscles in an almost instinctive rendition of the style he has mastered using his favorite medium of pen and permanent ink on paper. This time, it's almost like playing for him: flexing his well-oiled muscles with precision. The subjects: are now extremely contemporary.
