This paper relief's volumes are anticipated from plan serpentine line drawings capturing shadows of movements and energy. Shadows are always flat. This black abstract monochrome paper collage is an attempt to make them exist in another dimension. Moving them from projection to their own existence. Shadows are the very image of existence-absence, where things lose their definition and begin to become totally abstract. They exist in an in-between this series tries to deliver them from.

While chasing abstract domesticity and industrial surrealism, Walac focuses on deploying theatricality in spaces through materials and shapes. Her work spans sculpture, drawings, furniture, installations, and poetry. She is interested in the living relationship between the body, architecture, and objects/furniture. Both organic and geometric, her works convene playful darkness and engage shadows in layers of existentialism.
c.a. walac. received an MFA from ENSAPC (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts de Paris Cergy) in 2015 where she studied Sculpture and Installation and a Research MFA from University Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne in 2014 where she explored the concepts of space and place in contemporary art.
