Artist Statement
This work is about exploring contradictions; the rock-like solidity of the blocks rendered in weightless tissue paper, the illusion of dimensionality, organic versus inorganic. The seeming logic of the background schemata suggests relationships between the forms and a story unique to their perspective. The dynamics between the elements evoke tension and hint at correlation. This series uses a combination of collage, painting and printmaking using vintage patterns as the primary material.
