Handprints
Unframed
These images are inspired by fingerprints and handprints. Prints were taken from friends and family members, going through a selection process without being altered, selecting and searching for images that can trigger our imagination. This series explores alquimia, positive and negative with the same image, making each a unique original.
Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print. Engineers used the process well into the 20th century as a simple process to produce copies of drawings, referred to as blueprints.
The chemicals used in cyanotype have lower toxicity compared to other photographic methods. This method also uses the environmental elements of sunshine and water thus creating a match of medium and content.
