This work is part of the 'imagery'series. It is named after the great movie (2001) based on the life of the American mathematician John Nash. The story is about Nash's days at Princeton University and begins to develop paranoid schizophrenia and delusional episodes. This painting visualizes the concept of being held captive in two different worlds. The green and yellow field represents intellect, luck and life. The blue and purple field is about solitude and mystery. In the middle a thick black line that represents the drama.

Christian Ovís is a self-taught Dutch artist that specializes in hard-edge abstract painting. He aims to assemble both the simplicity as well as complexity of non-objective art. His artworks are usually, but not always, geometric and characterised by angular shapes and distinct colors. Christian Ovís lives in Amsterdam.
His work is often inspired by components in today’s society. A recent series named ‘Laundering’ is a statement against consumerism. The ‘templates’series visualises patterns of everyday activities in societal context.
