Artist Statement
This artwork is part of the Template series which is about patterns in human life. Patterns provide a sense of order in our otherwise chaotic existence. Therefore we have a tendency to see patterns everywhere, which can also lead to seeing things that don’t exist. This painting visualises that discrepancy. The colorfields are like pieces of a puzzle that fit together. But at the same time every piece is a unique template on its own.
