Artist Statement
Acrylic inks on strips of gummed paper, glued to drawing paper. The work can be hung horizontally or vertically depending on the available space.
Two overlapping bayadères with spacing create a checkerboard effect if one is vertical and the other horizontal. This is the principle of this very colorful composition, like the Indian fabrics of which the city of Madras is made a specialty.
