About the art
Artist statement
This is a time-consuming, labor-intensive combination of a painting and a photograph. Up close you can see a fine floral pattern within the leaves of the branches.
The outline of a plant was drawn then filled not with watercolor paint but with light-sensitive photo emulsion and plants were laid across the shapes to create a repeating blue and white pattern within the silhouette.
