Mark Rothko envisioned the art's goal as “relieving the spiritual void of modern man; a void created in part by the absence of a mythology correctly addressed to “the growth of a childish spirit and (…) the life and struggles of a man”.
This vision of art speaks to the artist. But conversely, he refuses to address a mythology. On the contrary, he wishes to show it as a speculation on a vacuum, a way of consolidating his will to power.
Tear the veil, even if it means discomfort.
There is a certain beauty to truly integrate that we are only ephemeral dust. Unfortunately conscious? It is rather to understand that we are fundamentally all on the same scale, free and that everything is possible, as soon as we open up to the human being next to us ... because it is the only tangible reality that makes sense to our existence and it is within our reach now.

« To comprehend the world beyond understanding, logic, thought, the beautiful and the useful, it is imperative to evolve, an absolute necessity so as not to disappear. »
Christophe Houllier is an award-winning artist based in France whose paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions nationally. The central theme in his abstract works is the question of existence, in all of its mysteries. For Houllier, creation is an instrument of intuition, an expression of the body that brings the question of God, the wisdom of nature, the transformation of sorrows, and gratitude for life into consciousness.
