Christopher “Chris” Gill is an improvisational, abstract painter, who lives and works in Somerville, Massachusetts, U.S.A.. He is married to the painter and printmaker, Jane Goldman. Chris is also a musician and psychotherapist. He paints on large rolls of paper on the floor of his studio. Chris pours, spills, splatters and drips paint on the paper, and uses other techniques, including imprinting and manipulating the paper with rhythmic movements. Chris mimics the actions and processes of nature, and although his work is not explicitly figurative, it often reflects the patterns and contours of nature, both of the physical world, and of the larger universe.
