Christopherson Ho (B. 1988) graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore (accredited by Goldsmiths, University of London) in 2017. During his time in LASALLE, he was a recipient of the Lee Foundation Study Grants from 2013 to 2017, the CDC & CCC University Bursary award from 2015 to 2016 and CDC & CCC Arts Bursary Community Education Awards from 2013 to 2014.
Formally trained as a sculptor, his art practice has extended to paintings. Inspired by his faith and intrigued by the idea of light as a source of hope that can penetrate the emptiness and sorrow of darkness, Christopherson’s paintings explores the absence of light and how light reflects against the texture of paint.
In 2015, he was awarded the Winston Oh Travel Practice Award and was commissioned by Four Seasons Resort in Maldives in 2016, where he presented his ceramic sculptures in partnership with “The Artling”.
His works have also been exhibited at Still Life with The Artist Village 2018, One East Asia Gallery 2017, and as part of THE SINGAPORE ART SHOW at Heultrans with Theo Arts Professionals 2016, Affordable Art Fair Young Talent Programme in collaboration with ION Art 2015 and An American in Singapore 1965 – 70. George Porter at the Brother Joseph McNally, Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore.
He has also participated in the Residency & Symposium at Ceramics Training Programme Fujian Dehua Hiap Huat Koyo Toki Co Ltd, China and Bond Klay Keramic the 4th international contemporary ceramic art project Khon Kaen University Thailand.
