Artist Statement

Cosmoselector's collection of geological samples of exoplanets. Each sculpture represents a geophysical formation of a planet outside the solar system.

Sample collected on the planet: "WOLF 1061 c"
Constellation: OFIUCO
Ascension: 16h 30m 18s - Declination: -12 ° 39 ’45”
Stellar distance: 13.99 light years.

Planet covered almost entirely by liquid masses from which small islands emerge. The great oceans are made up of low-temperature hydrocarbons. Brilliant crystallized formations in the form of columns several meters high have been found on the islands. It is probably a type of rock crystal with a high iron oxide content given the multiple reddish tones it presents. The sample has been extremely difficult to extract. More than 20 cutting blades have been lost, the material is incredibly hard.
