Artist Statement
“Limina” is the Latin word for “thresholds”, and in these paintings the threshold between the instinctive, fluid parts and the controlled, almost geometrical parts is continually crossed and contradicted, but also joined and fused together.
"Limina" also recalls the word "limits", and often what we believe to be a clear boundary in life often fades into a set of passages from one condition to another.
Limits, thresholds: Limina.

Artist Profile
Born: 1966
Hometown: Verona
Based in: Verona
Cristina Dalla Valentina is an Italian painter born in Verona: she has been working in the artistic sector for over 15 years and specialized in contemporary abstracts on canvas using acrylic colors, inks and textile collages with techniques ranging from liquid painting to mixed media.
Her artistic practice focuses on the attempt to combine formal and geometric elements with more instinctive and organic features: colors play a role of primary importance in this because they underline this attempt and enhance it from an emotional point of view.
Continuous experimentation is the distinctive trait that has always guided Cristina: from her first workshop at the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona until today, the artist has never stopped growing and acquiring new skills, always remaining open to the opportunities that open up to her.
Cristina Dalla Valentina's paintings could be found in private collections in Europe (Italy, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Norway, Greece, Bulgaria), North and South America (United States, Canada, Brazil), Asia and Oceania (Japan , Australia).
