Artist Statement
This artwork was created exclusively for the Fari Art Atelier art residency in March 2022.
The drawings created during the residency are studies for upcoming and ongoing series in Arsham’s existing practice. The Classical Cave series present ancient sculptural forms, with the classical works drawn from Arsham’s collaboration with RMN-Grand Palais. This collaboration gave him access to historical objects which he then used to apply his signature decay and ageing aesthetics.
