Artist Statement
This painting is inspired by Um's visit to Yosemite National Park. In this painting, Um imitates light peaking through nature with small strokes and techniques such as pointillism to capture the essence. The subjects in nature are divided into shapes, and abstract forms that provide the viewer an open space for interpretation.
