About the art
Artist statement
At 41, the artist started to be involved in the practice of skating in a skatepark. This practice of extreme sport is for her synonymous with the acquisition of power in the whole of her life. Thanks to her, she positions herself in society as an actor in her life as a woman and her free will. She faces a lot of criticism about the risks involved with this sport, her age or simply her positioning in public spaces generally reserved for men. The practice of "dropping" (a drop-in is the act of going from a flat platform to a steep transition, starting at the top edge of a bowl or ramp by positioning a skate on the coping.) takes an important place in his artistic quest. Going in search of new skateparks, dropping everywhere, higher and higher, spaces with curves and slopes whose designs are always changing and require courage and determination represents for her a commitment close to performance.
The multiplicity of architectural forms in height, curves and slopes that she discovered in these places of urban and transgressive culture fascinates her. These lines in the half-pipes, bowls and pools they visit around the world are the source of her series of ink drawings which require calm, patience and precision in their realization.
