THE LONG TABLE | LEONARDO DA VINCI | 2021
Dent-de-Lion du Midi | Reimagine Art

Leonardo painted this masterpiece on the wall of the dining room in the refectory of the former Dominican convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie.

It is a huge painting, 4.60m by 8.80m, done in tempera and oil on a gypsum preparation, instead of the standard fresco technique commonly used in this era. It has not stood the test of time very well. Even before it was finished there were problems with the paint flaking off from the wall. Over the years it has crumbled, been vandalized, bombed in wartime, and recently lovingly restored.

We offer here a superior giclee fine art print, as close to the original as possible... which begs the question: what happened at The Long Table?
