About the art
Spiral Form is a realisation of a simple, elegant growth algorithm. Moving out from the centre, each connected series of circles grows longer, and the circles themselves grow larger. The radial length - the distance from the centre - also grows, but the radial amplitude and frequency of the oscillations - the waves - remain constant. The combination of these factors crestes the different types of overlaps and interactions which occur across the piece, and, to me, create a sense of an unfolding process - a ripple, or the growth of a strand of algae.
