Artist Statement
The exhibition "Nude: Theme and Variations" is a study of the emotional impact
of color, contrasting combinations and the movement of the body. Also, this is
the author's experiment on the synthesis of photography and painting in a
single work.
In her works, Diana Avkhadieva combines a lively pulsation of color, emotions
and minimalistic laconic forms.
During 15 years of practice as a photographer and filmmaker, she was in
search of discovering the true inspiration and nature of creativity. Diana
immersed herself with her models into the process, going through the
experience of cleansing away the mundane by turning to archetypes and the
elements, experiencing creative manifestation through movement and color.
As in her previous projects, the impact of pure color energy and natural
substances is one of the author's main subjects.
This way, looking at her work, the viewer is involved in the meditative process
of contemplation and color therapy.
