Artist Statement
This artwork continues the serie "WATERS AND ROCKS" which started from Italian coast and continued further. In her artworks Dina shows how different the sea can be. "Every sea has its own character and its own pallet. I was carefully observing this during the journeys I made with a sailing boat last summer. I crossed five seas: Aegean, Mediterranean, Ionian, Tyrrhenian and Ligurian seas. I noticed that the color of the water changes, the atmosphere.. everything."
Dina manages to convey the energy and the character of the water and surroundings with a wonderful force and precision. You can feel it when you look at her paintings. Her artworks are expressive and she uses wide brushes and pallet knifes to add more life and vivacity to the painting. The water, the rocks, everything is alive, everything breathes and vibrates.
Dina works in acrylic, but the style is very similar to the oil paint, the layers are quite thick and you can see its texture.
