Artist Statement
Here you can see a portrait of a young woman in close-up. The colors are clear and merge, creating a connection between the surfaces.
The series "The Fresh Scent Of Violas" takes the viewer on a journey into their own memories and is inspired by my fondness for violets in any form.
The Parma Violet beguiles with her scent and at the same time triggers a nostalgic longing.
The artificial violet scent was discovered at the turn of the century around 1900. At that time, people were sure that among the compounds of synthetic fragrances already discovered, there must be at least one more. It was assumed that it would correspond to the scent of violet. So, out of hope, the decision was made to find the "alpha-isomethyl ion" and they were successful! Subsequently, the scent of violets was indispensable in the 1920s and 1930s and shaped the beautiful life of that time.
