About the art
On this medium sized canvas aptly titled "Chaos Theory", Dominic Virtosu invites our keen gaze into an excursion unlike any other: a roller coaster for the eye and the soul. Putting energy and vigor into this composition through not only his decisive gestures but also his approach to color, Virtosu fills the canvas with a convoluted net of shapes that almost feels like too much. Almost like a pile of cassette tapes from the 90's made love to a box of thumbtacks and the result was this beastly heap of colors and squiggly lines.
It takes a bit of getting used to, but this painting reserves quite a lot of surprises to those who can look beyond its chaotic surface: an intricate and densely populated field of various thickness paints, spray dabs and lines, are welcoming the adventurous eye and unveiling a truly masterfully executed artwork.
