Artist statement
Part of the "Secret Garden" series of works, Morning Sunlight is a meditation on the moment. Just looking at beauty for a second and enjoying what one sees. Virtosu's skill shows through each brushstroke painted on this canvas. A master colorist, the artist manages to bring the canvas to life and show the beautiful morning lights.
Virtosu's focus is on showing the soothing morning autumn light through it's interaction with the plants in the garden. Piercing through the bushes and branches, the light projects the plants as shadows on a nearby wall. A warm, smooth color palette and the very high shadows reveal that this painting was made in the wee hours of the morning. A gentle painting that reminds us to stop and enjoy every moment.
