Artist Statement
Art imitates nature, as the expression goes. Leaves and trees seem to appear from this canvas and the artist skillfully manages to recreate the impression of an overwhelming thick jungle landscape. It's almost like the painting is enveloping the viewer from all sides, wrapping around just as growing plants. You can almost feel the humidity of this dense foliage, the ground, invisible, covered in leaves. The deafening sound of the bugs, critters and chirping birds. It's all coming together into a feeling of spontaneous wilderness.
"Spontanous Wilderness" is an impressive painting: a huge, wide-format canvas that features a colossal jungle nature. Paint is applied in a thick layer with spontaneous dabs that pop-out from the canvas.
