Artist Statement
This work reflects my fascination with geometry and patterns, time and memory as well as systems found in natural and digital environments. I approached mark-making as tracing fragmented architectural and natural landscapes to suggests spaces in flux - still being shaped, built or erased. While focusing strongly on the visual presence of the work and the physicality of the mark, I was simultaneously interested in impalpable.
This is a compressed charcoal drawing on wood panel. Charcoal has been fully fixed and varnished, therefore the surface is protected from smearing.
