The literary and poetic vision of fishing led painter and sculptor Duda Oliveira to venture into the world of art and environmental law. Born and raised in fishing, with aauctioneer father and embroidering mother, she was strongly influenced by the works of Jorge Amado. Duda has always been linked to the art of fishing.
The sculptor's proximity to the feasible universe of fishing also brought her a strong sense of social criticism and the purpose of defending the values constituted by this group. Twenty years ago, he joined the militancy of Environmental Law, by training, specializing in Political Sociology, to undertake in a participatory way.
With the struggle and the stressful hard work, in the career of a lawyer, came the need for an alternative therapy. That's how art came into your life. “Sculpture is my escape, a moment that is linked only to me. But still in it, I manage to materialize fishing. My main work is a fisherman throwing his net. Life has always taken me this way, in all its extremes “, says the artist.
