Artist Profile

Born: 1985

Hometown: Krasnodar

Based in: Krasnodar

My name is Ekaterina Solod. I am a Russian artist. I was born in 1985 in a small town in the south of Russia. Since 2000 I have been living and working in Krasnodar, Russia. After graduating from art college, I worked in a design bureau, combining work and study at the university. I decided to focus directly on my art career in 2019. I conduct an active exhibition activity and I am is a regular participant of Russian and international exhibitions.

I work in oil, watercolor and soft pastels. Tactile sensations when I am working with materials are important for me.
Creativity for me is a path to myself in the reality that surrounds me. Measuring life with light and shadow, color, rhythm and space. Proof that I exist.
My inspiration, like a mosaic in a kaleidoscope, consists of pieces of information around me — sensual, visual, tangible.
The purpose of my work is to give my viewer a new look at the manifestations of life around him, to give sensations for reflection and questions through contact with my artworks.
