Artist Statement

"Then from glass, there were diamonds" is an original painting on a deep 4cms canvas.
It can be hung directly onto the wall, or framed according to taste.
I love the soft delicacy of this painting. The palette of soft neutrals, and a delicate pink punctuated with pops of gold and blue, create a softness and vulnerability.
However, the strong diagonals create a structure, and a defiance, that underpins the whole painting.

Artist Profile

Born: 1969

Hometown: Brighton

Based in: Brighton

Ele Pack received her degree from Loughborough College of Art. She now lives and works in Brighton. She has exhibited her paintings both nationally, and internationally. Her work has been exhibited by various UK galleries, and overseas in Germany, Sweden and the US.
She has work in private collections in Canada, the US and Europe, and Japan. She has completed many bespoke commissions for such clients as, The Belmond Hotel, The Tribune Tower, Chicago, and The Mayo Clinic in Florida, as well as private clients.

I use a range of materials; paint, pencil, fabric, collage, metallics, and build up my paintings in a very organic way. I overlay layers of paint, mark and collage to build up the pictorial space. I use bold blocks of colour that are soft, sensual and striking.
My paintings have a directness, using straight lines, and an off kilter symmetry. But within that it holds a sensuous quiet warmth that nourishes and feeds the viewer on an emotional level.

"I want to create beautiful spaces. I see my paintings existing like music or poetry. They are visual experiences to be felt on an emotional level. I believe in the power of ART to lift and transcend. Using an abstract language of mark making that is both personal and universal. I believe that visual language has a potent power, like music or literature. And it has the power to lift, communicate and transform."
