Artist Statement
This painting was created during lockdown and was inspired by the experience of using zoom to communicate with others and the disorientation that arose from the constant changing of images on the computer screen. It felt like I was experiencing a weird visual amalgamation of faces and interiors all filtered through a two dimensional plane.

Artist Profile
Born: 1993
Hometown: London
Based in: London
Through drawing and painting Ellie explores her inner world and the subconscious. She uses art as a means to tap in to the psyche and reveal its contents. Ellie explores how to make the ineffable and the non-visual visual and uses shape, colour and symbols as tools to bridge the gap. Her work is a departure from the objective world and consists of a language of abstract organic forms.
Ellie studied History and History of Art at the University of Leeds. She lives and works in London and has previously exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition and the ING Discerning Eye Prize amongst other shows.
