Artist Statement
White Grid is a minimal exploration of form and line, it is a continuation of my Wall Form series.
Grid like ridges subtly bend and form over the undulating surface area referencing architectural qualities. Initially it appears as though it is made out of ceramic but in fact it is the layers of paint and compound that achieve this effect. This piece is a bit of a departure in colour for me as I usually focus on a solid colour. Instead I have played with washes and tone, inspired by the colouration of my dog, I wanted the muted pinks to peek through the coating of white. It feels organic and unique.
White Grid has a tranquil quality, simple in design and rich in texture.
