Artist statement
This artwork is an exploration of an action painting with red being the main focus, and it's seemingly formless presence, gives a sense that red dominates the black background. The work is in the style of abstract expressionism.
This artwork is painted on professional-grade canvas stretched and sealed with varnish. The canvas has dimensions 80 cm in width by 168 cm in height. The painting wraps around the sides of the stretcher, so the sides are painted in the same style as the surface. As such it does not need a frame.
The artwork was created in November 2023.
