Statement:

If the mind is allowed to wander into uncharted territory, the unexpected will happen. This approach leads the work to its full potential, enlisting the medium that best expresses the intention. The possibilities are endless as are efforts to investigate new avenues of expression. A sound foundation in composition and color gathered from years of design experience combined with an experimental component of random form is evident in the work. The powers of imagination, respect for our worldly creatures, plant life, rock formations, and the mighty waters are major influences and form a profound bond between artist and the spectacular planet.

Bio:

I live and work in Central Colorado. My artistic journey started early in life when my mother delivered a set of tempera paints to my room. The delight of mixing two primary colors to form a third was magical. I graduated from the School of Architecture at Auburn University with a degree in Interior Design, a field I pursued for 25 years. My time was spent designing professional and commercial spaces in conjunction with various architectural firms before becoming an independent consultant. During this time, I remained active in the art sector using my design senses in 2D expression.

After moving to Colorado and partnering with five other artists, I became partial owner-operator and President of Articulation Gallery, Inc., an award-winning gallery representing over 30 national artists and displaying works of the owner-operators. I now spend my time in my studio, Apogee Studio, in Salida.

A continued effort is made to stay informed as new media and methods of expression arise to maintain a sustained inventive technique

I am particularly pleased to have a pieces shown in the North by Northwest Exhibit at the Yellowstone Art Museum, Billings, MT, and work shown at the New Vanguard Exhibit at Keep Contemporary in Santa Fe, NM. My showing experience is extensive and will be supplied if needed.
