Artist Statement

Destiny Unfolds is a 48x24x1.5 inches panoramic oil painting in semi-abstract art nouveau style of two kingfishers meeting along a riverbank. The female kingfisher flies in from the right towards the male who flies up from the left. There are lily pads and pink lilies and wild rose bushes in the foreground and the edges of the painting are blurred to enhance the slightly mystical quality of the painting. In the space between the two kingfishers, you can see the edge of a lake and a hazy sky behind the trees. It is called Destiny Unfolds because the kingfishers are destined for each-other and there will be more kingfishers as a result we hope 😊 The painting was inspired after a kingfisher sighting I had a few months ago along the river Ouse near Barcombe Mills in Sussex. They move so fast and it is always startling to see the streak of blue and orange and that tells you what you just saw. These birds and the countryside in that area are magical and the painting reflects this. It is painted in deep edge canvas, edge white, no frame needed, ready to hand and comes with certificate of authenticity.
