Artist Statement
Every artwork that I create is rooted in duality and I go through a cycle of death and rebirth throughout the creative process.
This bold abstract artwork titled "Long Way Up" reveals layers and layers of tension and depth every time you view it. The use of black and white represents the dual worlds I live in and how they blend together. The very top layer of genuine 24k gold leaf represents my awakening to my identity as a woman and artist.
