Artist Statement

IconCaretDown

Limited edition: #5 of 25

Each sculpture has a 'Certificate of Authenticity' signed and numbered by the artist.
The edition number is also applied on the back of the wall sculpture by hand.

From an original artwork molded with cellulose on a wood board, I create with a mold up to 25 editions made out of polyurethane resin hand-finished in different ways.

This wall sculpture is copper coated and oxidized to obtain a real green patina which enhances the texture and adds distinctiveness to each edition.
A sealer avoids further oxidations and a satin final varnish protects the surface of the artwork from dust and UV.

Dimensions:

cm 109 x 47 x 3
kg 7.8
inches 43" x 18" 1/2 x 1" 1/4
lb 17.19
(The interior view is to approx. scale).

The artwork is ready to hang with 4 hidden hooks, the wall hardware is supplied.

Artist Profile

Born: 1966

Hometown: Rome

Based in: Rome

After attending the High School of Art I moved onto European Institute of Design in Rome and graduated in illustration.
I find inspiration for my artworks through a close, attentive look of nature.
I focus on a particular organic texture, wood, bark, vegetable, animal or the shape of a rock and I bring it in the circumscripted space of an artwork.
Sometimes city landscape as well offers me a suggestion, such as the uneven cobblestones of the city I live in or the fascination of a peeling crackle wall.
I like playing with patina on metal finishes, since the oxydation is always unpredictable and unique and gives distinctiveness to each piece.
Through my website I collaborate with collectionists, art consultants and interior designers, creating bespoke pieces of art custom designed for each project.
