Artist Statement
This large gilded wall sculpture is part of my new collection inspired by the woodcut, an organic texture enhanced by the refinement of the patinated silver finish.
The relief is molded with a cellulose paste on a wooden support.
Once dry, the modeling is resin impregnated and thoroughly gilded with 1000/1000 genuine silver leaf.
Lastly the leaf was chemically oxidized to obtain warm tones and shades, from a light golden to a reddish brown and blue-green.
The patina is always different and gives uniqueness and warmth to each work.
A final satin varnish protects the surface of the wall sculpture and preserves it from further oxidation.

Artist Profile
Born: 1966
Hometown: Rome
Based in: Rome
After attending the High School of Art I moved onto European Institute of Design in Rome and graduated in illustration.
I find inspiration for my artworks through a close, attentive look of nature.
I focus on a particular organic texture, wood, bark, vegetable, animal or the shape of a rock and I bring it in the circumscripted space of an artwork.
Sometimes city landscape as well offers me a suggestion, such as the uneven cobblestones of the city I live in or the fascination of a peeling crackle wall.
I like playing with patina on metal finishes, since the oxydation is always unpredictable and unique and gives distinctiveness to each piece.
Through my website I collaborate with collectionists, art consultants and interior designers, creating bespoke pieces of art custom designed for each project.
