Artist Statement
This delicate composition on paper is part of a series of works which have three points in common: their title (which is a date), their relatively small size, and their production process. They can be considered as the very essence of Kröner’s exploratory work.
They are produced on a large table, covered with multiple bits and pieces, often leftover from previous creations. Their gestation starts from an impulse, a certain light, an unexpected combination or configuration at a given moment. They then progressively evolve until such point when the artist considers them as complete and signs them.
Together, and with their title which matches their completion date, they form a poetical diary where the artist would have recorded his creative ideas.
This series of work is is about time passing, perception, form(s), light(s), and the exploration of original configurations.
This work is delivered framed by the artist (40 x 30 cm)

Artist Profile

Harald Kröner is a German artist who could be described as "paper artist", producing essentially works on paper and collages. His work involves also public installations.
Harald Kröner works thoroughly with paper, of which he is a notorious collector, whether it be artist paper, printed sheets, or papers collected in his daily life, transforming them into drawings and collages.
His works are made predominantly with coloured ink, but stain, lacquer, spray or enamel can sometimes be used in the creation process.
Lines, very present on his artworks, can be the result of a pencil stroke, a cut, the edge of a torn paper, dripping ink or the borders of collaged paper underneath his paintings.
Chance plays an important role in his work, which explores the limit between hazard and control, order and chaos.
