Blue Resonance offers the viewer a harmonious painting that elicits a sense of contemplative peacefulness. The painting celebrates the infinite cosmos. The overall impact has a restful visual effect giving one a sense of profound and timeless repose.
The surface of the canvas is slightly textured with gesso and silica glass which adds an aesthetic tactility. This material element seems to ground the ethereal atmosphere. The minimal non-objective image comprises blue tones that range from cobalt, ultramarine, turquoise to warm teal.
The artist uses a technique similar to mandala sand painting where she methodically taps a small fan brush creating random delicate lines, marks and flecks to cover the surface. This allows her to create is a subtle central light that softly radiates. Even when illumination is dim, the blues come alive and glow. The dark, blue black edges enhance the vignette of light and add elegance to the piece. Blue Resonance does not require a frame as the edges add to the painting's overall effect. The work can be hung vertically or horizontally and is signed on the back.
