Artist statement
Inspired by the architectural forms, colours and shapes of East London, this abstract painting suggests the 1930s factories, buildings, windows and reflections I have discovered as I wandered the canals and waterways. With a slightly retro Art Deco feel, the work has a harmonious palette of soft natural tones deep and watery blues, along with bright flashes which lead the eye around the painting's surface.
