Fingō no.4 cast in porcelain - Limited edition of 10
The ‘Fingō’ collection is inspired by the female body. Taking aspects of the body that are traditionally feminine, such as curves and reassembling them to create an abstract expression of the female form. I started making this collection back in 2016, though I found myself going down different paths, I was able to revisit this concept during the lockdowns, re-sculpting and designing some of my original ideas.
The word ‘Fingō’ comes from the latin verb meaning to shape, form or knead (dough)
H 22 x W 10.5 x D 10 cm

Helena Lacy ~ Clay
Helena Lacy is a ceramic artist based in London. Graduating from Wimbledon College of Art, with a degree in Technical Arts and Special Effects.
Known for her hand-built sculptures and vases that are bold and tactile. Often taking inspiration from the natural world, she embodies the textures, shapes and colours found in organic objects.
Including her new abstract landscape series titled ‘Firm Earth’ and ‘Slice of Earth’ Created from curious objects found in different parts of the world from stalagmites in Kong Lor cave in Laos to Cairns in Iceland.
The ease with which one can enjoy these natural wonders such as mineral formations and volcanic landscapes is something she tries to replicate.
Helena has also created two collections called ‘Fingō’ and ‘Skye’ based on the female body. Taking aspects of the body that are traditionally feminine such as curves and putting them back together to create an abstract expression of the female form.
Her practice lends a playful approach to ceramics - learning with our hands interacting and discovering.
She creates her work from her studio in Shepherds Bush, West London.
