Based in: Tokyo
HIDAI Marehito was born in 1921, Tokyo. Hidai enrolled into the Imperial Art School and majored in oil painting. He graduated in advance due to the war and was sent to the Burma front. After the war, he returned to Japan and became a member of the Freedom Art Association and taught in Bunkyo Gakuin College. He passed away at the age of 84 in 2005. His art pieces are often identified by his individualistic point of view and the spontaneous brush style.
