Artist statement
This image of yellow iris continues the series «Imperfections».
It was created in the same time with “It’s Complicated” painting. So the color choice is similar. This iris fits into the square form, the flower resembles numerous ribbons crossing and interacting together with the dominating yellow color.
I thought of awareness ribbons while working on the painting.
Yellow ribbon has several meanings. But in general it’s a symbol of anxiety, expectation and hope. This painting was completed in the beginning of March. And influenced a lot by the events we are coming through right now.
