Delicate, exquisite shades of white in the evening light - that's what attracted me to these delicate orchid. I tried to convey this exquisite mood in my painting, using the technique of watercolor overflows.
Such a painting will bring tenderness and freshness of white shades into the interior, fill it with light and bright colors of the sky.
The watercolor painting with orchid is painted from life on magnificent cotton paper with paints from world manufacturers. The size of the painting is 27x39cm, the artist's signature on the front side.

Artist Profile

Born: 1986

Hometown: Moscow

Based in: Moscow

Hello, my name is Irina Pronina, i'm a watercolor artist. I was born and raised in Moscow, and began studying art at a young age. Following my passion for painting, i attended the prestigious Higher School of Folk Arts in St. Petersburg, where i trained to be a master silk painter. After graduating, i spent several years creating artworks on silk, however, i found that the traditional technique did not further my search for my own style. Inspired by a group of modern Russian watercolorists, I discovered my enthusiasm for the flowing medium. The possibilities of watercolor – the dynamism and beauty of the iridescence – constantly inspire new paintings. Today, i paint full-time from a home studio located on my terrace, with large windows and lots of natural light. In my free time, i enjoy painting on a textile, which i describes as a matter for the soul.
Watercolors are currently my main material for creating paintings. The possibilities of this material, the dynamism and the beauty of the overflows – this is what inspires and helps me to convey the idea of the work to the fullest. With each new painting, watercolors are revealed to me from a new side, and I am ready to discover the secrets and possibilities of this material that I have not yet explored.
