Artist statement: The artwork 'series nine / 2' results from an analog process using copper and a corroding process to explore an "uncontrolled" painting-like surface, photographed and digitally processed, which is new to my art practice. Using mostly natural materials like stone, copper, bitumen, concrete, wire, wood, textile and wax, found on construction sites or in my everyday environment, I try to challenge the material. Departing from an intuitive approach the material is transformed into a body, a structure or surface, where material and shape relate one another - be it elegant, minimalist or raw.
