Artist Statement
Macro photograph of aloe vera, digitally edited. Transferred with a special technique to plaster mounted on canvas. We modified the traditional Italian fresco technique, a method of painting water-based pigments on freshly applied plaster, by transferring and incorporating macro photographs onto wet plaster instead of painting directly on it. The 3d surface of the plaster tempts the viewer to touch and feel the artwork. Picture hook attached on the back of the mounted canvas.
