Artist statement
Optical effects in the image - image changing over time
Painting with metallic paints on a painting gives it shine and three-dimensionality. Metallic pigments in paints reflect light, which causes the image to change depending on the angle of incidence of light.
Adding layers of transparent or translucent paints creates an effect of depth and subtlety. These layers allow you to mix colors in interesting ways, creating unique shades and tones.
Covering the surface with varnishes and resins simulates the effect of a mirror or reflections, giving the image a dynamic character. The use of white or light color in places where the light falls brightest imitates reflections.
Adding different textures creates interesting optical effects. The textures are very sensual and emphasize the texture of the image.
This allows you to use lighting effects such as reflections or light and shadow effects. This gives the image dynamics.
